Mark was born and educated in Germany holding a German degree equivalent to MBA.
Deeply intrigued by foreign cultures from early age on, he travelled widely as a business executive for prestigeous projects related to the
Energy Industry.
After emigrating to Canada he began to train Asian martial arts and Qigong as a hobby in 1995. Especially Qigong and the related internal martial art
Tai Chi developed into an ever growing fascination. In 1998, Mark joined Ji Hong Tai Chi where he has since been studying
Traditional Tai Chi (Chen, Yang, Weapons, Push Hands). He has been an Assistant Instructor since 2002 and received 2006 his
Instructor certification by Master Hong-Yuan Luo, the founder of Ji Hong Wushu & Tai Chi College. Mark has been successfully competing at
the 2nd International Taijiquan Biannual Conference 2002, Jiaozou, Henan, China (Gold medal Yang style) and the Canadian Kung Fu and Wushu
Challenge in Toronto, Canada (Gold medal Yang style, 2004).
Mark is grateful to his teachers for their continued encouragement in further exploring Tai Chi's miraculous internal facets and has been leading
teams organizing national Tai Chi competitions, Seminars and Workshops. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Organization
of Traditional Taiji Quan Associations. Mark wishes to give more and more people access to learning and receiving the benefits from practicing the
body/mind arts of Tai Chi and Qigong.
